A PHYSICS SANDBOX FOR CURIOUS MINDS

Things In Motion.

Build a machine. Give it a purpose.
See where your curiosity takes you.

Things In Motion is a physics sandbox and puzzle game about building mechanical inventions. Connect gears, ramps, springs, ropes and wheels to create marble runs, walking creatures and playable musical machines.

Public release coming soon for Mac, iPhone and iPad. Steam and Android are planned.

The Little Strider: a four-legged walking machine built with cams, rods and a motor in Things In Motion
The Little Strider — one motor, four feet, a new way to move.

A sandbox for mechanical inventions

Start with an empty workbench or explore a complete blueprint. Change the parts, connect a belt, adjust a gear, and press Play to see the result. Every machine is yours to take apart and remake.

Build a marble run with ramps and a scoop wheel. Use ropes and pulleys to lift a basket with the Harbour Crane. Explore cams and sliding rods by taking apart the Little Strider.

Twenty physics puzzles. Your own solutions.

The challenges give your experiment a goal: ring a bell, cross a gap, or deliver something to the right place. Explore momentum, timing, balance and resonance by changing the machine and watching what happens.

You do not need to know physics formulas to begin. Try an idea, see what changes, and try again.

Make a machine that makes music

The Workshop Piano turns eight mechanical keys into a playable instrument. Explore the hammers, springs and bells, then change the mechanism to make it yours. Music is another reason to ask: what happens if I move this?

Share the invention, not just the idea

Export a short silent video of your machine or share an editable invention file. A friend with a compatible version of Things In Motion can open the file, explore the mechanism and create their own variation.

Play locally, without an account

Your inventions and progress are stored on your device. The current app has no advertising or tracking SDKs. Sharing happens only when you choose to export or send a file. Read the privacy policy →
